Everyone has at least one fear about skiing when they begin. I ski double black diamonds and I've gotten used to the fact that I could crack my head open by hitting a tree.( I wear a helmet!) But when I first tried a double black, I was terrified! My friend had to trick me into skiing it. But now, that I've gone over it a few times, I start have tons of fun and It's practically the only thing I ski now!! So I guess you just have to get over your fears and tell yourself that you have nothing to lose.(but I would suggest using a helmet, it makes all the difference) Pretty soon, you feel invinsible!! So when you have a fear of skiing...GET OVER IT!

skiing yes, b/c the skis can get caught in almost anything. snowboarding however, ive never actually done, but i think that i could have a godd balance with a big board instead of two little skinny skis.

its not scary once you learn how to stop in my opinion...I love skiing, we go every year... and once you learn the basics of how to stop and turn, its alot of fun...

No way. Skiing is probably the best sport in my opinion. It's fun, adrenaline pumping (runs on double black diamond pistes), and a personal challenging sport.

P.S. Most fears come from not able to control speed well. Take a couple of ski lessons and you will love it, too.
