When in snow, is it best for the girls to snowboard or ski?
Answers:
Where is the best place to snowboard?
anatomically, girls are more prone to tear their ACL than boys, and the freedom that skiing allows for your knees to move makes it more likely for a girl to tear their ACL if they were to fall. So, I would suggest snowboarding if you are concerned about injuries. As both an avid skier and snowboarding...I would say that snowboarding is more difficult to learn, however, but easier to get good at. Vice versa, skiing is easier to learn but harder to get good at.I also perfer snowboarding...tons of fun and more laid back than skiing!
I have skied for 20 years, and I am 23 now so I'm a little biased toward skiing. I did try snowboarding for a month, and it was really hard for me to catch on to it. Plus I hurt like no other the next day. I just feel that if you get good at skiing there is a lot more to do than with snowboarding.
