De - Tune Edges before riding a new board & is a Powder board necessary?

Question:Should I detune the edges near the nose and tail sides before riding a new board? This is for mostly groomers and regular mountain runs, not park and pipe.

Also is it good to get a powdre board to travel with if I have a free ride board already? Is the burton fish or lib mullet better?

Which is easier ? Ice Skating Or Inline Skating (roller blading)?

You can detune, but newer boards these days come perfectly prepaired by the pros. I just bought a new '07 Burton and took it out without any tuning or detuning, rode like a champ. Especially no on regular mountain runs, you should be good, but like alot of things with snowboarding, it's personal preference. Powder board, well I know myself don't do too many powder runs, I hit the park alot for competitions and just for fun, but when I do hit the powder, my freestyle board can handle it well enough. But if you have a free ride board already, I don't see the need for a powder board. They're quite close already. Unless you're talking deep powder runs, which you do often, otherwise I'd say it's not worth the money. And personally, I like the Fish better, ridden my friends a couple times and it's awesome.

Can anyone identify this song?

only de-tune if you are going to be jibbing with that board (rails and stuff). but if you are riding big mountain you want you edges to be as effective as possible so you are goin to want to "tune" and not "de-tune".

also, make sure to wax. you don't wanna get stuck in the fluff.

Has anyone heard of Sasquatch snowboards?

You don't need to detune your edges for freeriding groomers. You only really need to detune edges when jibbing rails, boxes, etc so that you don't catch an edge and fall

How's the snowboarding at tahoe these days?

Detuning your edges is really a personal preference. For most people it's probably not going to make a difference but it can help on rails and park. As far as the powder board goes, it depends where you're riding, how often, and how much you want to part with your cash. If you are riding backcountry with 5 feet of snow 3 times a week, then definitely spring for the powder board. Otherwise, the longer freeride board should do just fine. It really just depends on what you think would be better for you.
Also, go with the lib tech mullet. Lib makes good stuff.

Where is the best place to learn skiing for beginners near Toronto?

Detuning is only needed if you're a park rat. A powder board is only needed if you're going to be riding nothing but back-country. Your all-mtn will be fine for the occasional pow day. But if you do opt for a specialty, go for the Lib-Tech, for sure. They make some of the best boards around, hands-down. If you buy a Burton, you're paying for the name, not for a better product.

What size and style snowboard do I need?

You can ride powder with a board meant for park riding. Do not get a really expensive board just for powder.
