Why is there no tv coverage of the men's world curling championship? Or is there ?

You want to pop up a little going onto the rail and quickly (it shouldn't take much) bring your board around 90 degrees. Usually backside (you'll slide facing down the rail) is easiest to start with.

Don't really worry about centering yourself on the rail too much. Just line up straight and keep your eyes on the end of the rail. It'll ussually work itself out.

Once you land, your natural inclination (especially if you're nervous) will be to put weight on your heels and possibly bleed off some speed or to prevent catching your edge. (It might not be concious as it's probably ingrained into how you learned to ride.) Anyways you need to fight this urge absolutely as much as possible. Don't worry about catching your toe edge. As long as the rail or box is smoot you should be fine.

Instead bend your knees and keep your center of gravity low and you should be able to just ride it out. Once you are on the rail it's very difficult to change your course so you're better off just riding it out.

It will feel pretty stiff and unnatural at first as you are fighting a bit to stay upright and your edges don't really have a say in it anymore. But keep practicing and as you get more comfortable you'll be working your way into presses and other stylish things in no time.

How do you measure the width of your stance?

then dont try to do it and youll do it.

Why don't you ask this question in snowboarding? you'd get answers quicker there. but to do a boardslide, like any other new trick, you don't want to think too much about it. If you do you'll probably chicken out. I had this problem learning 360s. You just need to think: I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna nail it. now as far as technique goes, the best way to do a boardslide is to ollie and then do a 90, onto the rail. I find it a little more difficult to start 50/50 then rotating on the rail. You may fall a couple of times, but it's part of learning. Try it a few times and you should have it dialed
