Snowboarding help?
Ive been going on snowboard trips all throughout colorado for the past 4 years and i love it. I can never get snowboarding out of my head. I crave snowboarding and i really wish i lived ner the mountains. The funny thing is i live in south florida. What a joke right. I liek always get sad knowing i wont see snow for an entire year after i get home form each trip. Is anyone in my situation? How do i break this?? Or what can i do to break it to my parents to go skiing two times a year instead on once, even though its alot of money.

Wow, I live in the twin cities (MN) and complain a ton when the snowboarding season ends it must really suck to only get to board once a year! My greatest sympathies on that :(As for going twice a year ask your parents and offer to chip in some money or to do more around the house etc. also if there's something your parents love/ loved as a kid say how would you feel if you only got to do that once a year or try to have them relate in some way.
As for craving snowboarding all the time I'm the exact same way, only difference is I go like at least 2 times during the school week and at least once during the weekend. In the off season I think about snowboarding and imagine myself doing different tricks (even ones I can't do! lol) or shredding down my favorite black diamonds, I also draw maps of my "mountain," I know this makes me want to snowboard more but I'd rather think about snowboarding and want to go than not think about it at all. i have only ever been to two of my local hills; is Colorado nice? email me about it if you get a chance.
Where in the world must you travel to downhill ski over all 12 months of the year?

Im in the same boat. I used to live in California and went snowboarding every chance I had from December untill June. I now live in Hawaii and cant stop thinking about it. The best thing to do is start surfing, which is in a way the same but with sharks. Also get a job if you dont have one and put away like $50 a paycheck until you save enough to go twice a year. Because in a way nothing can replace snowboarding to me, its just too much thrill. Snowboarding is where I got my first mild concussion and I'll never forget the fun I had after it. Im rambling now good luck man.

just tell tem that you want to go snowboarding more. Just tell them how you really feel. And only bring it up when your parents are happy. And if they say its to much then get a job and help them pay for itHow do u remove a paint stain from a white shirt?
Just wait till you are old enough to make your own choices and you can do whatever you want.I didn't grow up with my parents taking me snowboarding and I had to wait until I was making my own money to try it. I worked hard for it to make it happen, including getting all top-of-the line gear, a season pass to Mammoth for the past 7 years, being able to go all the time, etc.
That's a part of life- you can't get everything you want. If you want it, you gotta work for it, and you'll appreciate it a lot more when it is something you've earned on your own.

they finally did it! you dont need snow to snowboard anymore, you dont need charilifts, all you need is a hill
you do need serious leathers handguards/gloves as you will see in the videos.
because goin 60-70 mph on concrete can easily kill you. whereas you might survive a fall like that on snow.

Ask your parents to make a deal with you. Such as for some amount of money you make to go boarding they put in an amount of money. Try longboarding also. If you like to do tricks on your snowboard try and make a trampboard like i did to practice and have fun without the snow. Just some simple suggestions.What should i look for in a snowboard?
I live in Ohio and although we get snow. The closest place is a 3 hour drive. If you want to go moer than once a year stay on teh east coast. Vermont, New York and West Virginia all have great mountains. They of course dont amount to that of Colorado's, but they are much cheaper in terms of flights, and lift tickets.More Questions & Answers...
