Hi is anyone here in love with skiing like totally mad about it and think its the best ever??!!?

in snowboarding you use your quads, calves, and depending on whether or not you're doing tricks, your core muscles. doing squats at the gym or the machine where you do a leg press is awesome for your quads. running and sprinting can help strengthen your calves. and for the core muscles, i personally just bust out the crunches. do three sets of 40 crunches each, not more than one minute in between each crunch. do these crunch workouts whenever you think about it at least a couple times a day. mix it up... dont just do the standard crunch... try twisting, or sticking your legs up in the air and touching your toes, or "rowing the boat". those are the main muscles used in snowboarding.

What is the best location in the US for beginner skiing?

do pushups and sit-ups. that always works

For those of you who live in pennsylvania/maryland which is better for snowboarding: whitetail or liberty?

Squats either by machine or free weights is an excellent way to strengthen the muscles used during snowboarding. The squat literally strengthens all the muscles in the body.
Add some crunches and some lunges and you should see a marked difference the next time you go snowboarding

Best female snowboard for out east? No terrain parks, just good edge and cruising?

Squats, lunges, step ups, weighted step ups, leg press, crunches, bicycle crunches, leg curls, leg lifts.
This should get you started. You will use your lower body and your core muscles so anything that works them will help.

Does anyone know when skiing/snowboarding season ends in the United States?

When snowboarding you use a lot of your core muscles. So doing any workouts for your abs will help you out a lot and also work out your back. A lot of people forget about their back when thinking of core workouts. Also remember your obliques, or side abs.

Otherwise, leg workouts will help you too or some agility training to help you with your balance.

I hope this helps!

Where can i get pics of Kristina Cousins The Canadian ice dancer who is on dancing on ice at the moment?

since in snowboarding you are always searching for balance between heal and toe, the stabilization muscles in your legs will get sore...try holding dumbbells and doing squats on a unsteady surface. At the gym there are 'half/ball looking things' (technical term) to stand on...at home just use a couple pillows.

When was the first time someone used a snowboard and what country or if in usa what state.?

yes. do crunches to work on your abdomen. do leg presses, but with only your toes on the board so that you strengthen your calves. or you can stand on the edge of a stair (on your toes) and stand on your tip-toes, then flaten out, and repeat. also word on your pecs and upper arms, since those are muscles that help you balance.

Anyone tried the DC "Judge" boots? Good as Burton or others?

trust me, you will need ALL your muscles, so do every exercises you can think of, lol.

Kingsvale tubing?

you need leg muscles, so squats are very helpful. also just being in shape is good so cardio is important

Which ski bindings should I buy?

The best exercises that I find useful are the stairmaster, leg presses, and if you stand against a wall with your knees bent as if you are sitting in a chair for as long as you can. Do it over and over again until your legs can't take it anymore! 8-) For instance, I do it in reps while I am watching tv.
