Snowboard in Snow Valley, California?
Question:Has anybody ever been to Snow Valley in California (close to Big Bear Lake) for snowboarding?
I'm thinking about taking my husband for snowboarding for his birthday in March and I'm debating if I should take him to Big Bear (or Summit) or Snow Valley.
It's a surprise so I can't ask him which one he wants to go.
Also I'm not going to snowboard because I'm pregnant so I want to know what I can do there or where I can go to spend my time alone while he's enjoying snowboarding...
I'd appreciate any info you have about Snow Valley.
Thanks:)

Go to big bear. Snow Valley is a great place to learn but there is not a lot of runs for the seasoned rider. Secondly the town of Big Bear has tons of things for you to do while he is off riding. Snow Valley has nothing. Better town, More to do. Check out Bear.Where did Al Hackner's Canadian Curling team win the 1985 Air Canada Silver Broom?
I like Mike's answer . . . but you might also want to consider the fact that snow valley is "140 turns closer than Big Bear"- something to think about if you get carsick. Also, Snow Valley is way way cheaper. I think they even have free rentals or something. It's worth it, fairly decent mountain by so cal standards, except . . .you would get very bored there, and you can't hang out at the bar cause you're preggers. If you go to Big Bear, send your hubby to Snow Summit unless he likes hitting 50-foot kickers and 100-foot rails (if so, Bear is better). You can go to the Village- tourist shops, restaurants, etc, or go for a walk along the lake. Have fun.

believe me, go to big bear, snow valley sucks, its all ice, very dangerous, nothing there at all, for the safety of your husband choose big bear, he could get hurt physically from the crappy snow, or mentally from the boredom of nothing to do and crappy slopesMore Questions & Answers...
