Have you been seriously hurt while enjoying a Winter sport?
I'm a figure skater and i only have a 15 minute lesson. There is not a real lot you can do in 15 or 30 minutes but if you have a private coach they will probably work on the things that need work on the most and teach you new things. I try to go to the rink as much as possible and stay there after my lesson to practise. Practise the things you did in your lesson then do other things you know by yourself. Try getting friends or people who can do the moves to help you that way when you have your next lesson you will be able to do the moves a lot better and you will move onto new things. If you can afford it its a good idea to try and join like a figure skating club or have more than one lesson per week this way you will be practising more and you may move on a little faster. Just remember to stay confident and try new things when you and your coach thinks you are ready. meanwhile take note of everything that your coach tells you and work on that ! Good lookListen carefully, write down what you practiced and then do those same jumps and spins ect. afterward trying to incorporate what your coach said.
Who is going SNOWBOARDING in WV??!!!?
Only 30 minutes - oh believe me that is enough! You don't want too much new info all at once or else you can't absorb it all (plus you'll be too pooped in the end). PRACTICE what you go over with your coach during your lessons . . . and then take it to the next lesson to see how you have progressed. If you learn something and don't practice, then what is the point of the lesson, right? Also, if you think there is something that you know needs work, bring it up to your coach so you can work on it together during your lesson. Hope that helps! At what degrees should i have my left foot binding (riding reg.)?
Listen to to coach, and ask questions if you have any. If you would like to take notes on what to practice after wards you can, just make sure that you don't let it get in the way of the time with your instructor. Most of all practice on your own time, not just during lessons. My lessons are only 15 minutes (I did have them a few times a week though, and they were private) so I had to push and get through things, and listen carefully, but 30 minutes is adequate (especially if you are in group lessons). Is a 147 cm board a good size for me?
Thirty minutes is plenty! As others have said, when you're done write down what you learned and review it before you practice on your own. Listen and focus on the time you spend with your coach. If you can warm up before your lesson time do it so you're not wasting time when you're out there.Has anyone stayed at Peruvian Lodge Alta, UT?
i'd say that there are like 3 rules:find a coach who encourages you and who you like and obviously is also a good teacher (i've been through a few coaches until i found mine at the moment and i've had some who are good teachers but really unencouraging)
PRACTISE
really enjoy them and be confident
and practise more
