Is it easier to snowboard even after you ski for you whole life?

Are you a racer or not?

If you're just a freeskier with no plans to go racing, then you want the ski I have: the Blizzard IQon 7200 Classic. A wonderful ski that will get you through ice, crap, anything. It makes great turns and holds its edge sometimes when you can't. With my old skis, carving too hard meant going down and flipping over, but with these skis, the edge holds when my legs buckle so I just fall nicely to the ground. There's no pushing these things too far. They will do what you want them to do, if you can handle it.

If you race, you should probably get Atomics, as they definitely make the best racers. For slalom or GS, just get their gs11 or sl11. For skiercross, sx9 or whatever they have now (I skiied these and they have great edgehold on longer, wide turns, but cant turn hard), and for DH you're on your own :-)

If you can't tell, I have more experience with free skis, but Im getting into racing and I have been doing a little research.

at 5'5", you'd want about a 165cm ski if you're intermediate, but maybe go longer if you feel you could take it, and you would want these skis for longer. You weight would probably benefit from longer skis. Generally, for a free skiier, the ski should stand up to between your chin to top of head, longer for more advanced skiiers. If you race slalom, you want the ski much shorter. But I guess you dont need a shorter ski

hope this helped

I want to buy good quality skates for my son who is 12 years old.kindly suggest me the quality of skates & pr?

Maybe try a 140 or 130, I'm am a intermediate to advanced skier/snowboarder and go on moguls all the time. Also depends where you ski, like i live in the midwest and go to resorts on the bluffs, if you live in the mountains you might want short skis for more control.

Can anyone recommend a good ski bag to carry my skis when traveling?

the usual rule of thumb for shaped skis today is that the skis should reach to around your nose. of course the actual length depends on how you ki etc.

you are ~165cm tall - so about 150-160 would be right depending on your skill level. if you are still growing you may want to go with the slightly longer ones. May be worth renting to see how they feel before buying.

i am 5'8" (older and heavier than you) and ski on 167cm skis

How difficult is snowboarding for a chubby gal?

umm probably a size 148 or 158, what size do you usually use? maybe even a 168 its just harder to turn, 148's are comfortable for me but im smaller than you so maybe go bigger. rent some then try them out see what size you like best.

p.s. elan ski's are the best!

Open wrestling tournaments?

I think a 153 cm ski would be an appropriate size. You might enjoy a Rossignol Bandit, Atomic Metron 7, just new out this year, a Volkl 4 or 5 star, and honestly the list can go on and on. Take some time to read reviews online and in Ski Magazine, etc., and see what sounds like you! Then, next time you're at the slopes, instead of renting their run-of-the-mill standard ski, demo one that sounds like a performer that you've read about. Have fun.see ya at the slopes!!

I can ski double blacks and back country and a little bit of park, how do I get sponsored?

lots of critique to do. first go with a 161. i'd say recreataional wise, go with a the rossi's volkl, or nortica. (salomon makes great park and powder stuff) am a fan of all thier race equipment as well as their rec equipment. brands to stay away from: blizzard...awful.elan.te...
now, i saw one person talked about racing equipment above, dont go with atomic. the best stuff is rossi, volkl, or nortica ( i race on nortica dobermann's) love em. atomic is good for rec skiing, although i dont like thier equipment that much anymore (for me).

my racing coach is a nortica rep and put me on my skis which was a great choice
