Yes, because HHH injury halted the momentumIt was a success/failure. The success part because it proved DX was still extremely popular. The failure part because the only people they could get to reunite were HBK & Triple H. It would've been better if they could've gotten atleast some of the other original members to come back for the DX reunion.

No,the only reason it was set up, in my opinion, was to make money. and they sold (and are still selling) DX Merchandise by the truck full.. so the words "cha-ching" ring loudly in WWE's ears when they say D-X.
Why is Wrestling the biggest hick "sport" next to NASCAR?
No.They made a boat load of cash from all the DX merchandise sales and even brought back a fan or two due to their return. It reminded people of a time when wrestling was good and by doing that it wasn't a total failure.
Long time fans got to see the part of the original DX back only if it was just HHH & HBK and newer viewers got a chance to catch DX in action...even if they were a bit watered down compared to the original 1997 heel DX.
