I don't think he's the best wrestler ever. The only reason he is always at the top or near the top is because he has positioned himself well politically within the WWE. He's married to the boss' daughter, so he now has political pull backstage. He has a say in storylines and who he wrestles. If he doesn't like a particular wrestler, there's a good chance that wrestler will never see a main event push.
If you want to talk about pure wrestling ability, I would say that Bret Hart is the best ever. Chris Benoit is the best current wrestler. Both have unmatched technical skills in the ring.

Politics and brow beating aside, Triple H is one of the best in the mainstream industry today. I think he'd be in a similar position right now if he hadn'tve married the bosses daughter, simply based off of his old school ring mentality, and his ability to make the audience love or hate him. Now, with that being said, he's by far not the best wrestler ever.Triple H, as far as in-ring work goes, hasn't helped the evolution of the industry. He's nothing new or special when it comes to mat work. He's not doing anything that Harley Race or Ric Flair didn't do before him. This doesn't mean he's a bad wrestler, it just means he's somewhat generic and dated.
His gimmick as a heel isn't even that original. Ric Flair was running around in armani suits, drinking champagne and fenagling women in the back of limousines back when Levesq was nothing but a big nose in a diaper. He's an effective heel, a great heel at that, but yet again, Triple H isn't anything new in that area.
When I think of best wrestlers of all time I think of the likes of Curt Hennig, Jake Roberts, and Kurt Angle. These men moved the industry into a new era of mat work. Men like Jake Roberts reinvented the promo, and Kurt Angle basically made it possible for wrestling to look like a shoot amature wrestling event, he drug out Gagne's legacy, dusted it off and reinvented it to suit a new era of high-flying mat technicians like Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels.
I know I've gotten too critical and analytical in this question, I didn't intend to go in this direction because I am a big Triple H fan, it's just he's not the best thing to happen to wrestling since Sliced Bread #2 in my eyes.

That would definetly be me. HHH has been through so much with the WWE and with Vince McMahon that I don't see how he would ever not come back and go to anywhere else. I know that he is scheduled to be at Summerslam because it sucks because I wish he was here now, especially now since Michaels is injured. I remembered when he got hurt and I was so mad because I know that he was really enjoyin his job again as a member of the New DX and reuniting with shawn. It was a crying shame to see him gone for the last few months but just think of his return and how cool its goin to be when you hear his music again. The stadium (whereever raw will be) is going to erupt! I can't wait!he will be back after he heals up. dont rush him
