What do you guys think about that boxing thing that wwe/f used to have?
Was this also scripted? Butterbean was a real boxer and Bark did have some skills, both are in mma now. By the way don't get smart just answer politely.

Throughout 1998, the WWF experienced a growth in roster size but due to limited amount of TV time a number of their more genuine "tough guys" were left without much to do. As a result, the idea for a legit tough guy tournament was bandied about as a way to both utilize some of these men and capitalize on the recent interest in Toughman Contests around the country.
It was developed as a way to push "Dr. Death" Steve Williams as a genuine tough guy to the newer WWF fans who were unfamiliar with him. He was expected to win as a well known and genuine "tough guy." He was a former amature wrestler with real success.
All fights were real, and thus, Williams was shocked by Mike Barton where Williams was badly injured. His return to the WWE months later was laughed at, as he was remembered as the guy Bart Gunn (Barton's ring name) knocked down. Barton was basically not used and when used, was jobbing.
Barton would win the tournament.
Participation in the tournament was strictly voluntary.
The rules to the tournament were complicated and led to frustration from fans who could not understand the complex point-scoring system which the WWF only quickly explained before every match.
Each match consisted of three one-minute rounds. Whichever wrestler connected with the most punches per round scored 5 points. In addition, a "clean" takedown scored 5 points and a knockdown was worth 10. If a wrestler was knocked out, the match ended. The matches were scored by ringside judges including Gorilla Monsoon.
A followup to the tournament had the winner Bart Gunn matched against pro boxer Eric "Butterbean" Esch at WrestleMania XV. In the bout, Gunn was knocked out in approximately 30 seconds and soon after was out of the WWF. Though Gunn's legitimate knockout of Williams did not bring him success in the WWF, he was seen with great mystique in Japan where Williams is highly regarded. He now tours the independent circuit and Japan under the name Mike Barton.
