If someone from the raw brand win a title from another brand. Do they have to go to the other show?

No they don't have to. Usually the writers of the WWE don't plan it that way, but when title switches take place, they usually make sure each brand still has a main championship.

a good example of this would be matt hardy. he has Raw gold but is from smackdown.. so no.. you dont have to go to the other brand but you;ll probably be making appearances on the other brand...

I see the examples of Matt Hardy and the subtle examples of Bobby Lashley, but I'd have to say that if someone stole the title from one brand, especially in a Money in the Bank or Royal Rumble situation, they go over to the other brand. Case in point, Chris Benoit in 04 I think it was? He was on Smackdown, but he went over to Raw to compete for the title after Rumble, and he became part of the Raw brand when he won the title at mania. There are clear exceptions like Rob Van Dam, but Van Dam also had two brand titles.

Matt Hardy is an exception to the rule because he's a tag champion. He's only half, and he gained the title at a tribrand Pay Per View with a tag partner from a different brand. Matt only defends on Raw, he wrestles on Smackdown, but he only defends on Raw. He's still not a member of the roster, but the title has remained brand exclusive.
