Was it a good idea for McMahon to buy WCW?
Question:Since the Monday Night wars WWF/WWE rating have went down from over 7 million viewers to know in the mid 3's.
Cena has been champion for nearly 2 years only because he connects with younger fans and pop culture (hip hop is now pop culture).
Diva search, match at Wrestlmania, Raw nations...all this to get more fans.
Would it have been better in retrospect not to buy WCW even if they went out of buisness on their own. He could have still got the talent he wanted after their contracts were up with WCW.

What if WWE was small like TNA?
not at all. he completely ruined the competetive spirit that kept both shows afloat and made it worth watching. with no real competition, his brand was watered down and boring. just like screwing up ECW, now it has a tarnished reputation, no longer a great brand and company its just another vinnie mac production. thanks for f'ing up the business you greedy b@stardumm ok?
Chain Gang Soldier for Life!!
Just how annoying are Ken Kennedy fans?
in business yes. because buying it out added it to his reputation and thats saying "I AM VINCENT KENNEDY MCMAHON AND I JUST BOUGHT OUT WCW WHICH MAKES ME THE BETTER BUSINESS MAN"Maybe or maybe not because l did not use to watch it back then but i know alot.
Who do you think would win out of these GIANTS?
what you have to remember is that WCW was ready to fold anyway when Vince bought it. The problem was that in the last 3 years of the promotion, they never put over any new talent. Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash became the chief bookers, and instead of giving a John Cena/Randy Orton type a push, they just continued to pass the belts, publicity, etc amonst themselves. Hulk Hogan in 2004 should not have been headlining anyones PPV telecasts, much less against Randy Savage etc. It was almost as if Hank Aaron and Sandy Koufax suddenly decided to make comebacks, and they wanted to be paid like they were Albert Pujols and Johan Santana. That being said, if Vince had not bought WCW, they would have still gone out of business, only now any marquee talent and name recognition the former WCW guys would have had would have been ruined, hurting their prospects for getting over in the WWE. Other than guys like Flair, all other former WCW wrestlers would have looked like minor leaguers who were not good enough to make it to the big time, instead of getting the initial push they did get as "invaders".
Who is the most popular person in the wrestling section?

You are so right maybe if he had done that he would have gotten sting and sting would have been a super duper star and at lease a 4 time wwe champ by now. But yea i think that by hin doing that it has killed the wwe in a way mainly cause they don't have no competion so by them not have competion they don't produces good shows like they used to.Does anybody know when Triple H is coming back ?
It was good for business.Do you think Goldberg could have done the jackhammer on Andre the giant?
I don't think it was a bad idea for him to buy WCW because it was on its way into bankruptcy. However, I am a firm supporter that Vince could have kept WCW as a seperate third brand, like Raw or Smackdown and made a decent show out of it. Since the purchase, I have begun to question Vince's decisions and begun to wonder how good of a wrestling promoter he still is. I personally think when the Rock, Stone Cold, Hogan, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg all left the company he ran out of storylines and good matches. I have no problem with new fans watching wrestling, but I have to question Vince's actions most of the time because they are very predictable and his ideas are getting stale to the veteran wrestling fan.Who saw the john cena vs shawn michals match?
what better way to kill your competition than buy them out... if target had the chance they would buy wal-mart out.... so i think it was a smart move by vinnie mac.More Questions & Answers...
