Question:As reported earlier, Rob Van Dam has decided not to accept WWE's renewal offer, so the presumption is he is leaving when his contract expires at the end of August. Anything can still happen though.
The breaking point was when they began to waffle on how much time off they'd be giving him. He wanted a chunk of time off this year - six-plus months - and a limited schedule otherwise. He may be jobbed out soon to try to lower his value to TNA if he signs there, which is likely.

Some have said this is Van Dam's attempt at getting a push and a pay raise. I kind of agree. To leave WWE is to leave a fairly big amount of money for a smaller company's pay check. It's true, he'd likely get an X title or World title push, but is it worth it?I'd like to see Rob in TNA, especially since Lynn's return to the ring, but I just think he's playing politics...and he may end up losing.

yes..The interesting thing is that WWE probably could give him a higher contract than TNA, but TNA could give him a higher per show appearance fee. I think if Van Dam does go to TNA he should prepare to wrestle in the X division because they desperately need a push and he could do amazing things for them. Another interesting question I have is if Van Dam leaves, when will Sabu leave? Certainly, he wants to keep all of his stars, especially Randy Orton, Edge, and Sabu. Vince needs to understand that in order to keep your stars, you should not have them job while they are in contract negotiations. Overall, I think Van Dam really wants to go to TNA for the lighter schedule and because he has not worked with many of their stars. Plus, they can give him the money he wants.

I would too even though I have been a fan of WWE since Wrestlemania 1. They put him on a show that disrespects the old ECW company he was once a part of. Other originals like Sabu may also be leaving when their contract are up. He could also help TNA grow. Other wrestler have left WWE and didn't even wrestle, so leaving for a smaller paycheck would still work. Many go on to Indy's, but with TNA he is still on TV. He gets to continue doing what he loves, but he now gets respected while doing it.

Who knows? But TNA is a refuge for aging wrestlers and WWE rejects (with exception of THE DUDLEY BOYZ, not Team 3D)... Besides, RVD is a very gifted wrestler... I followed his career from his humble beginnings in ECW... and by all means... he's etched his name as a TRUE EXTREMIST, an ECW Original!! It would totally dissintegrate what's left of the legacy of what used to be a renegade wrestling organization if they lose RVD!Remember Big time Wrestling, (AWF) in the Toledo Arena?
ROB VAN DAM (RVD) is without a doubt one of the most electrifying and talented sports-entertainers around. He gives his 100% in every match he does. He puts his body on the line and does the most jaw-dropping stunts on ladders and tables. He is truly ONE OF A KIND.But because of his habitual drug-related tendencies, this has gotten him into trouble. The last straw was the road stop by the police. He was caught with some drugs in the car while he was driving with Sabu. This was during the height of his ECW push. But because of this, he was punished and have not tasted gold since.
Frankly, RVD doesn't have to go to TNA because he is widely appreciated and accepted by fans and management as an asset to the company performance-wise. Vince would not give him the ECW title if he didn't think RVD can bring more butts on the seats. But his out of the ring antics causes him to stumble.
Remember, there is an existing and heavily forced wellness program that the WWE implemented a few years ago. Many have been axed because of this. And RVD was well aware of this fact. There was even an online video with Vince telling the wrestlers about this program.
It doesn't matter where RVD goes. Whether it be at the WWE or at the TNA, if he doesn't kick the habit and straighten out his priorities, then we would always be short of achieving what he is capable of achieving.

I think that it would be wise for him to leave wwe and head to tna. He's not getting his opportunities in wwe. Wwe is not really giving him any story lines to run with execpt the whole original ecw story, which is just to keep those guys on the air because wwe dosn't know what they want to do with those guys. He would be vaulted to the top if he left for tna, regardless if he fades out of wwe.
